Many years ago, Sam Smoothy's father climbed in the Andes mountains. Brought up with countless stories of these adventures, Sam endeavours to follow his fathers footsteps. Joining him on the trip are good friends Johnny Collinson and Fraser McDougall. With skis in tow, they experience a trip of a lifetime.

With the freedom of the backcountry comes responsibility, and this social responsibility in backcountry avalanche terrain is paramount as backcountry use explodes. Establishing a clear set of expectations in terms of Knowledge, Awareness and Wisdom is imperative to protect ourselves as well as our access to backcountry terrain.

"With the limited beta we'd been given, we had set our eyes on a very specific objective. Located beside the Kafjord Suspension bridge lies a huge waterfall that attracts big crowds in the summer months. With the right conditions, it can freeze over in the winter, producing a massive icefall over 120 meters tall, pocketed with multiple ice caverns; potentially epic conditions for ice climbing.
